Hello Yoginis! I am so excited to be a part of the team at The Wellness House! I began my yoga journey while in graduate school for mental health counseling in Albany. Yoga quickly became a way to manage stress and challenge myself physically while in the demands of school and work. Since then yoga has become an ever-changing personal journey of transformation for me physically and spiritually. As I delved deeper into my counseling career it was apparent that yoga would be beneficial to my clients with the belief that yoga can heal and positively transform one’s life. I believe that practicing yoga strengthens the physical body while also building mental and emotional strength. I went on to enhance my yoga knowledge and skills by participating in a 200 hour Vinyasa/Hatha teacher training. From there I taught yoga at various colleges in the capital region as a way for students to manage stress and anxiety in addition to teaching at private establishments.
I am a Beacon native who moved back in the area last fall. I currently run an intensive outpatient program for eating disorders in which I include yoga in the clinical program for clients. I am super pumped to be teaching and living in Newburgh! I look forward to meeting the community’s current and new yogi’s!!
